Don't forget to vote next week. Election Day is Tuesday, June 5.
Polls will be open at 7 a.m., and will close at 8 p.m. Polling stations in the Willits area are at the Willits Community Center, 111 East Commercial Street, and at the Brooktrails Community Center, 24850 Birch Street.
Mail-in ballots must be received by the Elections Office in Ukiah by Tuesday, so Willits area voters who still haven't mailed in their ballots could take a chance on Friday morning's outgoing mail, but otherwise mail-in voters should sign their return envelope, seal their ballot inside, and drop it off at any polling station on Election Day. Ballots also can be returned to the county Elections Office, 501 Low Gap Road, Room 1020, in Ukiah.
Ballots not received before 8 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted.
If you are a mail-in voter and you have not received your mail-in ballot, you can vote on a "provisional" ballot at the Elections Office or at one of the polling stations on Election Day. The Elections Office will examine provisional ballots after Election Day to determine their legitimacy. Call the county Elections Office at 463-4371 with any elections questions.
First results consisting of mail-in and early ballots counted before Election Day will be posted on the county website at mx2.co.mendocino.ca.us/elections/election_results.php not long after the polls close at 8 p.m. Results will be updated two or three times throughout the evening, until about 2 a.m.
Final election results which in recent years has included many mail-in ballots dropped off at the polls on Election Day won’t be available until Registrar of Voters Susan Ranochak certifies the election.
Certified elections results for the June primary must be announced by Tuesday, July 3.
