OROVILLE — A slow but steady stream of voters filed into the Municipal Auditorium today to vote in the primary election.
Scott Allen, who works in a after-school program at a local school, dropped off his mail-ballot today.
"Pretty much, I came over my lunch hour to show my students that I vote," Allen said.
Dan Toomey and Susan Sharon sat at a table at the entrance to the building to direct people to the right area to vote.
"It's slow but steady," Sharon said.
Some people filled out old-fashioned ballots and some used the electronic voting machines.
"In the November election, that's when we will have the people," Toomey said.
The Oroville area also had polling places at the Southside Community Center, the Thermalito Grange, the Lake Oroville Golf and Event Center in Kelly Ridge and the Yankee Hill Grange.
County Clerk-Recorder Registrar of voters Candace Grubbs said the vote-by-mail ballots tallied last Saturday will be posted on the elections website at 8:15 p.m.
The first results from the polling places will be posted a little after 9 p.m.
