LONG BEACH - Voters casting a ballot by mail in the April 10 election must pick it up by the close of business today.
Vote-by-mail ballots are available until 4:30 p.m. at the Long Beach City Clerk's Office, 333 W. Ocean Blvd.
Registered voters may still choose their City Council member, City College trustee or school board member through in-person "emergency" voting at the clerk's office. The emergency provision is intended to be used by voters who are unavailable on election day due to an event such as surgery or travel.
All votes must received by the close of polls April 10, including those submitted via vote-by-mail. That means voters sending their choices by mail should ensure there is sufficient delivery time, said Elections Bureau Manager Poonam Davis.
"We have to physically receive it at the City Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on election day," said Davis.
