Clerk training is available online or residents may attend classes in Martinez. Applicants must be California registered voters.

High school students who are at least 16 years old and have a 2.5 GPA may work, receive the stipend and fulfill community service requirements.

Service groups and nonprofits who work Election Day can earn $500 or more under the county's "Adopt a Poll" program.
