Vote-by-mail ballots must be received by Tuesday, and today is the last day to mail the ballots in time, Solano County officials said.

Ballots also may be dropped off directly at any Solano County polling location or the county Election Office, 675 Texas St., Suite 2600, Fairfield, by 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Of the 96,320 vote-by-mail ballots issued in the county for this election, only about 21,600 were returned by this week, according to a county press release.

The county registrar is asking vote-by-mail voters to sign the outer ballot envelope and not the ballot itself before mailing the ballot.

Vote-by-mail voters with a supplemental ballot for the Solano Irrigation District need to return those ballots in the separate envelopes provided.
